About the Client
Paint Boss is a family-established business with over 15 years of experience with a passion for painting. Paint Boss offer quality painting and decorating for new construction, re-paints, and commercial and industrial buildings.
1. Logo Design
Overview
A logo that really stood out from their competitors.
Brief
Paint Boss was after a creative logo incorporating a cursive and block font. Gaining inspiration from watching “Cake Boss,” Paint Boss created a sketch of what they wanted their logo to look like.
The Work
Using the supplied sketch, I found a cursive yet bold font for the word ‘paint’. Next, finding a rough, distorted yet bold font, I created the ‘Boss’ to look like it was stamped on. Finally, I designed the ‘Boss’ section to sit on an angle to go over the end of the ‘paint’.
2. Business Cards
Brief
Paint Boss wanted a business card design that fits their company brand and stood above the rest.
The Work
I designed the business cards with a corporate feel with an edge of creativity. They were printed on a 400gsm Gloss artboard with a velvet smooth touch laminate on both sides and a raised clear varnish over the logo on one side of the card.
These cards not only look the part, but they feel fantastic as well.
3. DL Flyers
Overview
A DL Marketing flyer to use for a letterbox drop.
Brief
Design a creative, appealing double-sided DL flyer advertising the company and what it can do.
The Work
The flyers’ design was plain yet attractive, knowing that most of them would end in the bin, like most flyers and junk mail.
I placed all the critical information on both sides of the flyer and separated both sides by using a different coloured background.
4. Website Design
Overview
A website to outline their business and showcase their work while allowing their clients to contact them.
Brief
Paint boss was after a website to showcase their recent works and services. They wanted something visual yet basic. The website had to reflect its brand and link its social networks and contact details.
The Work
Using Adobe Dreamweaver, Illustrator and Photoshop, I created a basic website layout for prototyping purposes to show the client what their potential website could look like. Once we had an overall look and feel, I could use Themify Ultra and WordPress to create their website. Using WordPress gave the client an easy option to be able to make text and image changes to the website when they needed to.
